In Auburn We Believe

October 28, 2008 by Jason Harbison

In Auburn We Believe

Auburn is more than one football season and more than one sport.
Auburn is more than winning and more than losing.
Auburn is passion and pride, family and friends.
Auburn is fall and winter, spring and summer.
Auburn is now. Auburn is forever.
In Auburn We Believe!

Believing in Auburn is part of every Auburn man and woman. It’s what we do today, what we will do tomorrow and what we will pass on for generations to come. Auburn football is an occasion to gather together 12 times a year. It gives us a common goal, a common passion and, for that particular Saturday, a common enemy. One season cannot and will not break the Auburn Spirit or crush the Auburn family. We are strong, we are united and we are ready for the future.

On November 8th, Auburn will welcome the University of Tennessee - Martin to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the annual Homecoming game. Keeping in mind that people who live around the state, the nation and the globe all call Auburn “home,” we decided to step away from our customary GameShirts for one week. We could have developed a new UT-Martin GameShirt with our tiger “Rags” finding a new way to torture a poor Skyhawk cartoon or flaunt his muscles in a new way. However, we decided that this year’s homecoming is not about UT-Martin or a Skyhawk or even a Tiger Rags GameShirt. This year’s homecoming is truly about coming home, remembering the Auburn you know and spreading the Auburn spirit you love.

“In Auburn We Believe” is the 2008 UT-Martin/Homecoming GameShirt and is now available for pre-order at TigerRags.com. The shirt is available for the special pre-order price of $10.95 (adult short sleeve), $16.95 (adult long sleeve) and $7.95 (youth short sleeve).

If you’ll be in town for the game, you can pre-order at this special price and select “Store Pickup” as your preferred shipping method. All shirts purchased in-store will be sold at regular price with a 15% store wide discount*.

Shirts pre-ordered for store pickup will be available for pickup at the Gay Street location of Tiger Rags on Monday, November 3rd. Mail out orders will also go out on November 3rd.

“And because Auburn men and women believe in these things,
I believe in Auburn and love it”
(The Auburn Creed - George Petrie, 1945)

WAR EAGLE!

  1. Thank you for this shirt. I think it is something we need.
To remember that Auburn isn’t all about the number of wins (though that is totally fun & exciting). It’s about believing when no one else does that It’s Great To Be An Auburn Tiger!

  2. Thanks for this shirt!! We really need to be reminded that it’s not just about football. Those of us who love Auburn so much, win, lose, or draw, can really appreciate the sentiment. I’m still and will always be a PROUD Auburn graduate, and I will always continue to celebrate everything and everybody Auburn! I send this from the Sunshine State while suffering through another Gator winning season - ugh! War Eagle, Auburn folks!!!!!!!

  6. I love Auburn and proudly display the flag everyday at my house, my Auburn mailbox and post. I live in Georgia and it’s hard to listen to all the ‘Go Dogs’ phrase from everyone, but my Auburn spirit is proud at my work and the car tag I have with AU on it. Auburn is not just football, even though it is a time to get together, but the people and the times we all had while at Auburn. That is what lives on in all of us and that is why we are such a strong family where ever we live. Thank you for doing a shirt that reminds all of us that we are proud family and families stay together through good times and bad. WAR EAGLE AND PROUD TO BE AN ALUM.

  7. I also live in Georgia , adn everyone is a dawg addict, but they do not have the same spirtit of family as Auburn. Auburn is more than football it is family and a place that we can go back to and call it Home. In the years to come Auburn will ahve up’s and down’s but we all will be Auburn in the end

  8. Thanks, Jerry! Great, great idea! Proud to wear the Auburn name at all times and have the bumper sticker also on the car. Living in the Atlanta area makes for lots of fun but proudly mentioning Auburn is always a joy!

Thanks for the special shirt–those words are a great reminder of the REAL Auburn spirit: that is it year ’round, for all time!

  9. Thanks for this thought! I have been thinking the same thing. We are NOT Alabama - we don’t fire coaches just because we don’t win every game. We love Auburn because of everything it means to us. Good sportsmen (and women) are crafted by both the victories they achieve and the adversities and losses they suffer.

  10. Many of us live and breath Auburn football. As I live in ACC territory, the fine people around here just don’t “get” SEC football. When I see a fan from another SEC school, even one from the school that’s “up the road” from Auburn, we great each other with respect as we know how proud we are of our SEC schools. It has been an awfully tough year for AU football, and one that is unfortunately not over. However this shirt offers us perspective, which is absolutely what we need right now. Well done.

  11. I Love Auburn, and have been a fan for over 50 years. I became a fan when we were underdogs and didn’t win many games. I am 69 yes old and will be a #1 fan forever! I WANT CTT TO STAY AS OUR COACH!!! I also love this shirt.

  12. I just want to say: I live in California now, and thay darn sure don’t “get” SEC football out here. Hell most don’t care about college football period. I try to explain why I come home for Thanksgiving, and every year attend at least one AU game. (AU-Georgia in the even years, and the Iron bowl in the odd years.) And the only way to explain it is: Come with me, and you’ll see why Auburn is a damn fine university, and above that a damn fine town. I have many great memories there, some not so great, and they all have and orange & blue place in my heart. I love the shirt and will be wearing proudly on Nov. 29th when we beat Bama! War Eagle!
